Greg is my basketball team’s coach/captain. He took up the game when he was in his early 30s when his son started to play and he volunteered to coach and admittedly fell in love with basketball.
I’m going to try to paint a picture of this guy because it’s priceless on the basketball court:
He is a 5'8" 50 year old attorney who is 150 lbs (maybe) soaking wet. He wears glasses, walks on his tippie-toes, and when he warms up, he wears a flannel shirt and big beanie because he gets cold in the gym.
He's been playing in the same league for over 20 years and is one of the nicest guys in the world. Despite his tenure in the league, he's horrible, although I will give him credit for being really good shape for his age. He will literally miss by FEET when he shoots. (I’ll try to take a picture of him next week before the game)
This past week he scored and became a menace on the defensive end for the next two minutes. It was like watching an 8 year old league when the fat kid scores. Thankfully he knows he's not good and only plays a little bit in each game. And yes, this is one of the more competitive leagues in Sydney.
