Good news - I found a basketball team to play on over here so I won't be coming back to the respective squads in Atlanta without having picked up a basketball in the last 4 months. The league is described as "one of the most competitive in Sydney," and my team had two former NBL (pro Aussie basketball) players.
Needless to say, I wasn't impressed. The leagues I play in in Atlanta have better basketball talent, but this league had more height. If either I (or almost anyone else who played high school basketball) was born in Australia, I could make the "league" if we tried out today. Unfortunately the league is about to go bankrupt and only allows 2 foreign born players per team. Otherwise I may have considered a career change.
